This Cookie Policy explains how Slize Link ("Slize", "we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar browser technologies on the Slize website and product.
It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
What cookies are
Cookies are small pieces of data that a website asks your browser to store and return on later requests. Similar technologies can include session storage or other browser storage used to remember state or preferences.
Cookies cannot by themselves read unrelated files on your device or access accounts that you have not connected to the service.
Necessary cookies and browser storage
Slize may use necessary cookies or session storage to provide features that would not work reliably without them. This can include:
- keeping you signed in and maintaining an authenticated session;
- protecting forms and requests against cross-site request forgery;
- associating guest-created links and recent-link history with your browser;
- remembering cookie-consent choices and other essential settings;
- supporting fraud prevention, abuse detection, and service security.
Necessary cookies are not used simply because we want additional marketing data. Blocking them at the browser level can cause sign-in, forms, guest link history, or other core features to stop working correctly.
Website analytics
Slize may use website measurement tools to understand how the public website and product interface are used. If a measurement tool stores optional cookies or similar browser data, we will describe that use in this policy and apply any consent controls required by law.
Short-link click analytics are separate from this. The redirect service can record request information without relying on optional browser analytics cookies.
Short-link click analytics are different
When someone visits a Slize short link, the redirect service can record request information such as source, medium, IP address, browser information, ISP, timestamp, and the link that received the click.
That redirect measurement is part of the link-management service and does not depend on optional marketing-site analytics cookies. More information is available in our Privacy Policy.
Cookie and storage categories
| Category | What it can do | Required? | Typical lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session and authentication | Keeps an account session active and associates authenticated requests with the correct user. | Necessary | Session or configured session lifetime |
| Security / CSRF | Helps verify that sensitive browser requests originate from the Slize site. | Necessary | Configured security-cookie lifetime |
| Guest link/session identifier | Associates recent anonymous links with the browser that created them and helps enforce guest limits. | Necessary for guest management | Session or configured expiry |
| Cookie preferences | Remembers whether optional analytics are allowed so we do not ask on every visit. | Necessary for preference storage | Until the preference expires or is cleared |
| Website analytics | May measure use of the Slize website or interface where a browser-based analytics tool is enabled. | Optional where applicable | Depends on the tool in use |
Exact cookie names and lifetimes can change as our infrastructure changes. Your browser's developer or privacy tools show the cookies currently stored for Slize.
Your cookie choices
You can control cookies through your browser or device settings. Most browsers let you view cookies stored for a specific site, delete them, block new cookies, or clear all site data.
Blocking or deleting necessary cookies can sign you out, remove guest link history, or stop forms and other protected requests from working as expected.
Browser controls
Most browsers let you view, delete, or block cookies through their privacy settings. You can also clear site data for Slize directly from your browser.
Browser-level blocking applies independently of Slize's own preference controls. If you block necessary cookies, some parts of the product may stop working properly.
Third-party technologies
Some features may rely on third-party infrastructure or services. A third party can process or store information under its own terms when its technology is used.
Where an optional third-party analytics technology uses cookies and consent is required, we intend for it to be controlled by the optional analytics preference rather than loading automatically.
Following a short link to an external destination can also take you to a site that sets its own cookies. Slize does not control the cookies used by those destination websites.
Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this policy when our browser storage, consent controls, analytics tools, security requirements, or service infrastructure change.
The current version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
